Location
Mockville Land and Cattle Co. is located in Mercer county, Missouri, in the north central portion of the state. Aproximately 2 hours from both Kansas City, Missouri, and Des Moines, Iowa, and 3 1/2 hours from St Louis, Missouri, we are easily accessible from anywhere in the midwestern U.S.

Mercer county features 4 distinct seasons of the year-each with its own charms and opportunities. Summer offers lazy days and perfect swimmin' hole weather, while winter gives us enough snow to make everything pretty without really hindering travel. Fall is an explosion of color, with leaves in rainbow shades, lots of wildlife activity and just enough nip in the evening air for a good campfire. The terrain is mostly wooded foothills and farmland, dotted with numerous ponds and lakes. Cattle and swine are the main products of the area and the family farm is a source of community pride.
 Mercer county has abundant wildlife and natural beauty. Deer, turkey and other game are easily found, bird
watching can be done from one's back porch, and a walk through the woodlands, lakes and state parks is a wildlife photographer's dream.
Local lakes and rivers yield large and small mouth bass, crappie, sunfish, catfish and more, though you may occasionally have to share your catch with resident turtles! |
